This Design SUCKS! – Building a Better Dust Collector with SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation
Using woodworking tools handed down from generations of wood-workers, our expert Marcus Brown sets out to build the ultimate woodworking space complete with a central dust collection system. The latest woodworking design challenge is to install a dust collector in a way that provides better flow performance, takes up less space, and requires zero filters to keep the air clean. Using SOLIDWORKS for Design and Flow Simulation for virtual prototyping allows the system to be built without any costly mistakes caused by design ideas that turn out to be dead ends. From planning out the installation and checking the flow characteristics to documenting the design of the power supply wiring, SOLIDWORKS has all of the tools needed for this project.
