SOLIDWORKS comes with a complete library of engineering and manufacturing symbols to communicate your design requirements. Symbols such as Diameter, Degrees, or Plus/Minus allow for concise design communication and are added automatically to your dimensions on the drawing. If you see text where your symbols should be, it is likely just a path issue commonly caused by an upgrade to a new version. Josh Covault walks you through the simple steps to resolve this quickly and get back to work.

The most common text users will see when this happens are these symbols, replaced with text in triangle brackets:
  • MOD-DIAM (Diameter)
  • MOD-DEG (Degree)
  • MOD-PM (Plus/minus)
  • MOD-CL (Centerline)
  • HOLE-DEPTH (Depth)
